Beauty of the smog

When you look out the window, and out to the city below, you expect to see the actual city. Instead, all you can see is the haze of smog. It can have a certain beauty to it, turning the sky into a sickening shade of purple. The sky fades from a deep blue to a much lighter one, then to orange and the purple of smog.
